I had to get the wheelchair in and out of the car and let me tell you I would have to get a larger car! Pulling and pushing this big wheelchair in and out of my trunk was very hard and heavy for me! Luke was able to move his arms but had no use of his legs so he used this wooden transfer board to help slide himself in and out of the car. To watch my husband struggling to just get out of the car was hard to see but I needed to let him do it on his own.
He was able to reach the RedBox which I was surprised about. We then went into Kroger and got a ton of stares - both of us. Mainly it was little kids that would stare, but that's just a child's curiosity. We also had a manager in the store be "overly nice" towards us. My husband wasn't able to see the top shelf of the grocery store so I just pulled them forward. Tonight we are going to head out to dinner with his wheelchair. My husband says he is afraid to knock something over in the restaurant but that is just part of the territory. (we also love booths! but will need to give that up if this were our new lifestyle) It should be interesting to see how it goes tonight!

This assignment is so enlightening! I can't imagine having to do that...for a weekend or a lifetime! Go Luke!
